How can I report or expose animal abuse, neglect and mistreatment of dogs in a humane society?

Have documentation if possible (pictures, dates written down and exactly what you witnessed, etc.) and go to various groups to make sure you do not inadvertently contact a group that is aware of the inhumane treatment and tolerating it . I would start with the ASPCA or HSUS (Humane Soc. of USA); even if it is a shelter supposedly affiliated with one of these groups, they need to know about it. Also, I would go to the State Police, the town/county police might already know, and if they do not they might not want to "rock the boat":, I am not saying definitely it would be ignored, but you never know. Also, go to more than one org; there is a better possibility one will do something about it if more than one is notified. I would also ask a local vet clinic what advice they have. Ask a reputable one; not one who provides medical services to the inhumane shelter. Because if the vet provides medical care there, it would be obvious they know of it and simply do not care. We work with foster animals, and the sad thing is most of the animals we take in and find good homes for need only some love, time spent with them, proper medical care (basics like wormed, flea meds, shots, etc) and a good bath. I urge you to do this. Those who are neglecting/abusing the animals ought to have the same done to them. GOOD LUCK|||Take pictures of the dogs and write a letter explaining that the Humane Society mistreats dogs. Then turn this in to the police|||Go to your town hall and get a list of media contacts. Inform them. However, if there is severe neglect or abuse, contact the police first.|||You can simply call the police. Some police departments have their own animal abuse units, but if not, ALL should be able to direct you to the correct people to call. Also, if your city or town has a Humane Society or any other sort of rescue organizations, you can call them and report it, and they will tell you what to do next.|||call 911|||You can report the abuse to the police so they can investigate. There are laws that protect animals from abuse from their owner. Dont hesitate the sooner the better unless you want to see the animal suffer longer .|||I would suggest referring to either the local police or the ASPCA - they'll be best qualified to handle the situation. Good luck, because that's a really sad situation :(|||If you know of any abuse you need to call your Local Humane Society Number found in the Business section of phone book. They may refer you to the local pound. I'd get as much information, facts of the abuse as I could get and then once you report keep up with it to make sure its being handled.Pictures or Video is always great if one can get.Am glad you do not tolerate abuse for it shouldn't be allowed esp since the poor animals depend on us to give their suffering Voice%26gt; Laws are stricter too now which makes me glad. Bless You|||#1 Call the police. Get the director involved. It is his job to find out what is going on. #2Call the Vet Assotiation of your town or county tell what you see and saw, and ask for a written report. Insist on it. What is written stays written and they can be sued or have that society closed.|||report that to the police
