How does Jesus want us to deal with mistreatment from others?

I read in the bible that if one guy hits your right cheek, let him hit your left cheek, too.

In real life, everyone seems to say, "If someone is treating you badly, move on. Don't waste your time with them." It seems to differ in the bible.

How does God want us to treat those who hurt us? Are we supposed to endure maltreatment from others? If so, why?|||Take this question to R%26amp;S (Religion %26amp; Spirituality)..

)o(|||The Bible says to turn the other cheek. That doesn't mean to let them hit the other cheek, it means to turn away from the incident, away from the anger and hostility instead of towards it. To face it with the part of you which hasn't been injured by it so that your judgment and the way you react to it isn't coloured by the way you have been treated by it.

So the Bible isn't saying we should endure mistreatment from others, either, by saying to turn the other cheek. It is simply saying not to approach the way you've been mistreated with a malicious heart.|||Praise God!

Luke 10:10: "But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,"

Luke 10:11: "Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: nothwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you."

Luke 9:5: "And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them."

Matthew 10:14: "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."

Mark 6:11: "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. . ."

Respectfully,|||Why do you need some book to tell you what to do with your life?|||Don't worry; Jesus did a lot of drugs.
