im writing an essay for a scholarship, and it asks us to find unique subjects, in other words no stereotypical essays on puppy mills, dog fighting, etc.
any suggestions on cruelty or animal suffering to wright on|||How about how animals are forced to live in unhealthy conditions, then are killed in a very cruel way for meat. I'm sure you'd find a lot of info about that.
You could also right about people keeping wild animals for pets. That can be a case of mistreatment if the person doesn't have the proper knowledge to take care of that animal.
You could also just right about the overall lack of respect for animals.

I done a report on differences between animal welfare in the UK, Sweden and the USA. The USA being the worst between the countries and Sweden having the best animal welfare rights in the world.|||go around to different pet stores, and interview the owners about where their animals come from. research it. tell about the condition the animals are kept in. tell about how shelters are better, because they need homes more, and pet store animals could end up being bred in puppy mills, and dog fighting, and neglected.|||Chinchillas are very over bred, neglected, and sooo many are homeless and in rescues-I doubt many people will be writing about them. The info is easy to find online-not sure how easy in books so that'd be the tough part. There are forums online though where you could ask questions and I'm sure there are some books out there on the subject. People don't realize that chinchillas are in great need of help and are very mistreated and forgotten.
Also the breeding of rodents for pet shops and stuff. Look at some pics-it is horrible how they are treated and some actual pictures included would shock who ever reads it. I saw pics of rats feeding babies in cages the size of shoe boxes with like 5 other rats in there too. Its dark and no fresh air-its seriously just horrible!

Oh, chickens too-the ones we eat. Many are debeaked and kept in the tiniest cages, smooshed up against other chickens and can't move barely at all-I did a story on this for journalism in college. It was easy finding resources and easy writing the story because of all the information.|||Animal hording. There is many layers to look into on this topic and would make an interesting paper.
FYI the "wright" in your question should be "write"|||You want a unique subject? How about tropical fish abuse? They are, statistically, the MOST abused pet. Might be hard to research, but statistics don't lie.
